Listening Conference.

“Listening Conference!”, the main thing on this week’s agenda. The mornings were filled with classes about prophecies in the Bible, concerning the end of times. After lunch we had workshops on how to work with prophesying. Listening to what God wants to tell us and others. Both for Rein and me, Tuesday stood out. We had to ask God to tell us what He wanted to tell a specific person, only we didn’t get a name. Everybody started writing down their impressions. When we were done, they told us the word from God was for ourselves. This was interesting… Often when we don’t see what we’re capable of when we look at ourselves. We all dream, but it’s difficult to believe that something will actually happen. Especially when we look at reality through our own eyes. Now, throughout this prophesy we see that God does have a plan for our lives. He knows what are dreams and hopes are, and He wants to bless us in it.

To be honest, this week wasn’t quite what I expected it to be. We know that Jesus is coming back soon (relatively soon… 🙂 ) and that we have to prepare. We have to live according to His will and ways, blessing people around us and doing the right thing. It’s not easy, but we already kind of know these things. Also the prophesying part; we didn’t learn something new there. I hoped to get some new revelations. They did pray for people and miracles happened, but still. Thursday, after classes, I took some time alone with God. I asked Him about receiving prophesies for myself, how much I longed for this. I only wondered: why do I long for someone to have a prophecy for me? God can talk right to me, without a detour. But even that had been quite some time ago. So I asked Him to give me some chocolate or something, let someone put it in front of our door, after praying I let it go. Friday was Mr. B time again! You know what I found when we got ‘home’? Chocolate! Oh yeah! Two Easter bunnies!

This morning in church, during the sermon, it was mentioned that sometimes we can get an arrogant attitude towards miracles, we don’t appreciate it as much as we used to. This hit me. In our daily lives, because we have so much, we don’t value the small things. We shouldn’t take life for granted. When God moves, when He does wonders and miracles, when He shows something of Himself, we should treasure those things. It’s good to long for more, but we shouldn’t lose sight of the apparent unimportant stuff.  Big and small are important, the first not more than the latter. We have to be happy and grateful for every blessing that is being poured out. If the blessings and luck of other people would make us happy, this world would be a better place. It’s not always easy, but most importantly: it’s not impossible. Because nothing is impossible for God!
