Let’s get started again.

Let’s get started again.

Holiday is over; the last part of the school year has started. Let’s get started again! Mom and Roeline left for Belgium again on Monday morning, and I had to start working for school again: preparing a SEEK and writing a book review. It was Easter Monday, so I didn’t do more than that. The sun was shining, so we decided to go out for a walk. Ice cream has to be a part of it. Only, since it was Easter Monday, all the shops were closed. Easter is celebrated more intensely here than in Belgium. The shops were closed from Thursday till Monday; well some of them were open on Saturday luckily.

Since a few weeks we have Mission Class on Wednesday evenings. We talked about fund raising and what we could do there, or more: what do we want to do there? After a time of brainstorming, the following things came to mind: music, teaching, preaching and children. Probably these will be the main point of interests during the trip. Next Wednesday we’ll talk some more about it. Fire in the Night was also part of the program again this week. Being together with God, having time of worship and prayer… Every time I enjoy it to the fullest.

Finally Friday arrived; I got the opportunity to teach again! During Mission Class I had the chance to talk about the fivefold ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13).  Jesus gave to the church: apostles (put fundaments); prophets (put focus on the supernatural); evangelists (draw people to Jesus); pastors (take care of the people) and teachers (teach about God’s word); specific people that are appointed and anointed to equip and build up the church in faith. Each one of these characters has a passion and encourages this specific passion in the people of the congregation. We need all five of them, in order to keep the balance and order in the church. Lots of questions and remarks came up during the teaching; we had a good time together.

In between all of this, Rein and I took the chance to go to the movies. Saturday we went to the mall, to enjoy an evening away. After a whole day of preparing for my teaching on Tuesday, I was happy to do something else. Today after the service, the LINK team organized a barbeque for us. This whole week we could enjoy perfectly nice and sunny weather. Next week they say it’ll get colder again, so we had to seize the moment. The only problem was that spring in Denmark is slightly different to spring in Belgium. There was a lot of wind, with some sun ones in a while, meaning: cold. But it was nice; we enjoyed the food and fellowship. Let’s say we’re looking forward for more warm weather (no rain AND no wind!), with lots of barbeques and fellowship!
