God is love, and He loves you!

Teaching, an extra-long FITN (until 3am), Mr. B, a seminar about God’s love… A lot of things waiting for us, a lot of things to do, but it was a very good week. Monday and Tuesday I was responsible for SEEK. This week’s theme: the Love of the Father. God gave His Son, so that the way to Him would be open again. Isn’t that awesome? Our Father in Heaven gave the best He had, to show us how much He loves us. Because that’s what he does, whatever we do, nothing can make His love grown stronger or weaker for us. He loves us with every love that He has, and since He is love (1 John 4:16), He literally gave Himself for us. I still can’t contain how immense this is. The question we can ask: What do we give back to Him?

The Fire in the Night and seminar on Saturday had the same theme: love. For the FITN we asked the students to prepare a devotional; a short scripture from the Bible, applied to your personal life. This time the students had to add a prayer topic to it, in order for all of us to work with it. What a night! I enjoyed it so much! It was incredible to be with each other, to get inspired by the testimonies and to encourage one another to hold on to the love, given by the Father. Saturday we followed a seminar of Weyman Howard. He talked about love described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Step by step he went through the characteristics of love. Love is patient, love is kind, love bears all things, believes all things, hopes and endures all things; love never fails. Those were the different parts he put focus on. Tools were given to experience God’s love, but also to spread it out to the people around us. He reassured us that the love of God can most definitely change people’s lives, backing this up with many awesome stories that he experienced himself.

During one of the breaks we met Rein’s doppelgänger! In the beginning of this school year, a student told us that Rein looked a lot like her brother. Often, when you hear something like that, you take this with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, the mother confirmed the remark that the student had given. Even stronger: during the prophetic conference a former student came up to Rein, speaking to him in Danish. This person had been a student together with the brother and thought: “Well it has been four years, but this might be him!” Last Saturday, we finally had the chance to see for ourselves and what a stunning resemblance. Rein actually had to go to the hairdresser, but luckily he didn’t do that yet, now his cut looked more like the one of his doppelgänger. Both of them were wearing a blue sweater, which improved the comparison. To take it even one step further, at first sight even their characters looked alike. Rein felt like he was looking at a younger version of himself. Although at that age Rein didn’t look like that, it’s still crazy. Who thought something like that would actually happen? Now I want to know where my doppelgänger is hiding!
